The Task-Level Detail That Changes Everything
Here's what no other platform does: we break every occupation into its individual tasks using O*NET data, then assess each task's automation potential. A cashier doesn't just get a "high risk" label — you see that 78% of their daily tasks (scanning items, processing payments, bagging groceries) are highly automatable, while the remaining 22% (handling customer complaints, checking IDs) still need a human. Every occupation page includes a donut chart showing this breakdown visually.
This matters because "AI will take your job" is almost always wrong. AI will take some of your tasks. Knowing which ones is the difference between panic and a plan.
What the Data Shows
45.8 million Americans currently work in occupations our composite model flags as high-risk. The most exposed: cashiers, truck drivers, retail salespersons, fast food workers, and office clerks. These aren't predictions from a think tank — they're based on actual BLS employment counts combined with multiple independent risk assessments.
We also track 511 confirmed AI-related layoffs from layoffs.fyi, mapped to specific occupations and industries. The layoffs aren't hypothetical anymore. They're happening at tech companies, media organizations, financial firms, and customer service centers right now.
Geographic exposure varies dramatically. A metro area dominated by logistics and retail looks very different from one anchored by healthcare and education. The interactive map lets you see this at the county level — all 3,220 of them.
